Choosing CUC in partnership with Ulster University means choosing a student experience focused on your future career success.

How to Apply

We often run two student intakes a year –  September and January (check individual programmes)

Before applying, please check the specific admission requirements for the programme(s) you intend to apply for. Once you have gathered all the necessary evidence (see required documents list), complete the online application form or download an application form and complete, and send all documents to admissions@cuc-ulster.edu.qa or drop it into the university.

We will send you a confirmation email once we have received your application and we aim to review your application and respond within 2 days. We may contact you to check your details or ask for more information depending on the requirements of the course.

If everything has been correctly completed, you will receive one of the following responses by email:



An Unconditional Offer

  • This means you have been accepted onto the programme and will be required to pay the registration fee in order to confirm your place.

 

A Conditional Offer

  • This means you will need to meet the conditions of the offer before you are accepted. This might be because you are waiting on exams or test results; that you need to achieve the necessary English Language test level or something you need to provide before you are accepted.

 

This information will be clearly stated in the offer letter you receive.

We may also write to you if you have not supplied the necessary evidence required to assess your application or you are ineligible for the chosen programme.

When you receive the offer letter, you will be asked to sign and return a form which confirms your acceptance. Details on tuition fees and payments will be sent with your offer, including information on our early bird scheme and scholarships.

You can only apply for a scholarship award once you have accepted an offer of a place.

Required Documents

To apply for one of our programmes, you must upload, attach or include the following documents with your application:

  • Official Transcripts/ Grade Reports covering your last three years of high school as well as any further education you might have completed. If submitting manually, please place it in a sealed envelope with your name added. If further grades become available after you have submitted your application form, please submit them to our Admissions Office as well.
  • Photocopy of your QID/ Passport data page(s).
  • 2 passport-size photos.
  • Parent/ guardian signed declaration on application form (if under the age of 18).
  • Accepted English Language test at required level.
  • Your CV for those programmes that require evidence of your work experience.

 

Sponsorships

If your fees will be paid by a sponsor (i.e Ministry or Company), then you will need to include a   sponsorship letter from the organisation. If you will be receiving sponsorship from the Ministry of Administrative Development in Qatar, please provide a copy of this letter. If you will be receiving sponsorship from an organisation, the sponsorship letter should be submitted in English directly by the organisation, supplied in a sealed envelope or sent via email. If this document is not in English, it must be submitted along with an officially certified English translation.

 

Additional information

You may also wish to include information in support of your application, such as a letter of recommendation or a reference. The recommendation/reference letter may come from a Teacher/ Counsellor/ Employer and provide supportive information. Make sure to choose a candidate that knows you well and can inform us of your qualities, strengths and talents. The letter should be either in English, or Arabic, with an officially certified English translation.

  • All documents that are submitted become the property of CUC and cannot be returned to the applicant.
 
  • If attaching documents through our online form, we only accept JPEG or PDF formats.

English Language Requirements

All our programmes are taught in English and therefore there is a requirement for you to be able to read, write, speak and understand the language. Every programme has a required level of English that you need to be at before you can join. If you do not have evidence of your English Test level, you will be offered the opportunity to complete one of these English Language Tests:

Pearson PTE test

Pre-sessional English programmes​

If you do not have the required level, you will be offered the opportunity to join one of our pre-sessional English programmes that will prepare you to meet the level you need.

Registration Fee
A 3,500 QAR registration fee is payable within 2 weeks of receiving the offer to secure your seat on the programme. 

Early Bird Scheme

Students paying their registration fee in advance of 30 March for September 2022, will receive a reduced tuition fee. For details: contact admissions@cuc-ulster.edu.qa

Fee payment – Tuition fees can either be paid in full before the start of the programme or over 2 instalments per year (for both part-time and full time).

CUC Scholarship Awards 2022-23

CUC Ulster University Qatar offers scholarships and financial support to help make a positive impact on the student’s ability to study with us. 

To be able to apply for any of the scholarships listed below, you must:

       Hold a residency permit or an approved Visa to study in Qatar

       Meet the entry criteria and admission requirements

       Be able to submit official transcript of records

       Have an offer to study at CUC in partnership with Ulster University

In all cases, the scholarship covers the tuition fees only. The student is responsible to pay for any other additional fees, such as registration fees or resource fees.

On acceptance of the scholarship award, you will be required to act as a Student Ambassador during your time as a student (details provided on application).

For 2022/23, we have the following scholarships available:

 

Academic Excellence Scholarship 

(single award per programme)

This is a partial scholarship awarded to a student who is able to demonstrate outstanding academic achievement prior to joining the University. 

Any student applying to study full or part-time undergraduate programme through CUC Ulster University

 You are required to have applied to CUC Ulster University for an eligible undergraduate programme (including the integrated Foundation Programme). 

 

As part of your application, you must be able to submit Certificates and transcripts evidencing academic achievement and articulate, through the application, how this will help achieve your future aspirations and ambition.

 

As part of the terms of this award, you will need to maintain a high level of attendance (at least 90%) throughout the programme and achieve key academic milestones.

The application must be submitted on or before 1 June for the September intake or on or before 3 December for the January intake.

The Unlocking Potential Scholarship 

(Single Award Per Programme)

A partial scholarship awarded to a student who has the potential to complete and achieve a higher education qualification but who faces financial challenges or barriers.

Any student applying to study full or part-time for a CUC Ulster programme who wishes to study for a higher education programme but who cannot afford to pay the full fees due to financial hardship.

You are required to have applied to CUC Ulster University for an eligible programme. As part of your application, you will be required to submit the following:

Previous and current academic grades/transcripts

Proof of income

Any additional evidence in support of your application

As part of the terms of this award, you will need to maintain a high level of attendance throughout the programme and achieve key academic milestones

The application must be submitted on or before 1 June for the September intake or on or before 3 December for the January intake.
