Ms. Lamese Abrahams, Director of Education for ACES, addressed the group with an exciting preview of the new CUC Ulster University campus being built in Lusail, and set to open this September.
In addition, inspiring messages from our Faculty were shared via video, amplifying the event’s impact. Students from CUC Ulster University also contributed messages of support, adding to the collective spirit of empowerment.
In a profound recognition of Qatar’s Vision 2030, discussions during the colloquium highlighted the pivotal role of women’s equity in achieving the country’s expected growth, particularly in STEM-related fields. Qatar’s ambitious National Vision aims to transform the nation into an advanced society of innovation and progress, with female empowerment at its core. However, the attainment of such objectives hinges crucially on harnessing the full potential of its female workforce.
As articulated by Dr. Faris Gorashi, “Inclusion is not just a buzzword; it’s a cornerstone of our values, shaping a diverse and vibrant community where every voice is heard and every story matters.” The active participation and leadership of women in STEM fields are essential for driving innovation, fostering economic growth, and ensuring Qatar’s competitiveness on the global stage.
The event, broadcast live on YouTube, attracted a diversified global audience from over 40 countries, underscoring the universal importance of gender equity and inclusivity in achieving sustainable development goals. Michael Stellwag, MBA, Head of Marketing & Recruitment at CUC Ulster University, emphasized the significance of the day’s proceedings, stating, “Together, we can build a future where equality and diversity are not just ideals but ingrained principles that guide our actions.”
In conclusion, CUC Ulster University exemplifies the spirit of International Women’s Day, advocating for inclusivity, diversity, and equal opportunities for all. Let us unite in transforming challenges into opportunities, shaping a better future where everyone thrives. As CUC Ulster aptly puts it, “Investing in women accelerates progress, and together, we can create a world where everyone flourishes.”
